You see, when it came to the early raising and developing of our children, Heidi and I knew we had to become proactive, we had to be INTENTIONAL.

Developing our children to do something well and something that interested them, including developing Bethanie into a world-class professional tennis Player, was an extension of the primary INTENTION. That intention is/was to develop them mentally, physically, and spiritually into mature adults that possess a healthy and wholesome self-esteem and self-identity. We wanted this for them so that they could be happy, confident, focused, self-assured, and balanced individuals as they grew.
Like many parents, even with the best intentions, we went off-road many times and seemed to lose our way. We found others who had gone before us, who cared about us enough to bring us back into the fold, and that helped us to get back on track. They explained the importance of a shared vision and how important it was to look inward and revisit our true intentions and real purpose. Once we remembered what that was, it was essential to harmonize that true intention with our daily actions. Through all of this I discovered that our lives are really guided by our true intentions.
Raising a champion is an intentional action. It doesn’t just happen, and you don't just get lucky. It doesn’t even remotely work that way! As a parent, you must take the time to go deeper and develop a shared and unified vision for each of your children. That vision will be different with each child, and that's perfectly fine. Consciously unifying a vision or goal for your child requires a lot of thought, contemplation, decision making, perseverance, unity, and of course action.

So, what is an intention? Well, a whim is not an intention, a casual interest is not an intention, a wish is not an intention, a need is not an intention, longing for something or wanting it to be so, is not an intention.
AN INTENTION IS A STATE OF MIND TO FULLY COMMIT TO ACHIEVING A SPECIFIC GOAL.
Intention has different degrees of power and originates from belief. The more you believe in something, the greater your intent on finishing something or achieving a goal. The greater the belief, the greater your determination and resolve to do what it takes to finish or achieve the goal. If you are intentional in seeing things through, you won’t become easily side-tracked. You will manifest your true intention through your thoughts, words, and actions. When your thoughts, words, and actions line up you are in harmony with your intention.

THE KEY IS TO HARMONIZE YOUR INTENTION FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME UNTIL YOUR GOAL IS REALIZED.

When it comes to your intentions, the real power lies in harmonizing your thoughts, words, and actions. This requires unifying many different elements (which I will discuss in the blogs to come).

Harmonizing intentions in the environment is critical to achieving the desired future reality or goal. In our journey to develop our children, in particular Bethanie, harmonizing the environment became a priority. It guided our decisions as to who would coach them, educate them, train them, and even socialize with them.
Obviously, this didn’t mean that everyone, including our children had to be in full agreement with us one hundred percent of the time, but they did need to be in harmony with our purpose and intentions. They needed to harmonize with our authority as the parent by showing proper respect and honor, and they did.
Remember, we are raising CHAMPIONS.
When you're truly intent on achieving your goal you are decisive, determined, firm, hell-bent, purposeful, resolved, set, and single-minded to complete the tasks necessary to achieve that goal. When you’re NOT intent on achieving your goal, you are doubtful, faltering, hesitant, indecisive, wavering, and weak!

The higher the goals, the clearer the intentions need to be. The higher the goals, the wider base of expertise required. The higher the goals, the greater the need for harmonizing our intentions of developing our children with their environments.

I know, this may sound difficult, confrontational, or overbearing but it isn’t. The key to Raising The Champion is intentionality. If you are intentional with your child's development, you and your child will be better off for it.

Now, what are your true intentions?

Take your time, breathe, and think on that until it’s crystal clear!

Until next time… Tim
